Designer, Developer and Whiskey Nerd.
My creative journey began when I completed my bachelors degree at the University of New Mexico, where I spent the beginning of my career designing and working for the New Mexico Animal Humane Society. Subsequently, you cannot work there without wanting to adopt a little puppy each and every day. Long story short, this is how I met my puggle named Einstein. After leaving the land of enchantment, another opportunity arose that had an even longer commute: Beijing, China. To this day, this is the most challenging and rewarding experience of my life. I enjoyed working for a tech company developing an app to help expats abroad make a little extra cash teaching others their skills, all while assimilating into their communities. It truly was a two bird, one stone scenario for all parties involved. This allowed a diverse world wide workforce to influence me and help mold me into the person I am today. Living and working in Beijing offered so much, but a chance to work in a new exciting sector became available: whiskey. Being a Texan, I knew I couldn’t pass this chance either, so I packed my bags and became the Marketing Director for an up and coming small business, Witherspoon Distillery located in Lewisville. Once I successfully expanded the brand and operations into new and larger markets, it was time to move on. What could be more exciting than working for a whiskey company in Texas? BAM! Guns. Transferring to become the Marketing Director of a Gun Range proved to be the right move for me, because I am Texan after all and it flows in my blood like warm whiskey. From working with veterans, to retired colonels, and even two time military snipers, this era provided a broad spectrum of experiences to make me an even better designer and director. Even throwing the biggest grand opening event the city of North Richland Hills had ever seen. Now you may be thinking to yourself, “Self, how does this get even better?” One word: MB2. Dental Practice Management offered a chance to manage and direct over 30 separate dental offices around the United States, from the mountains of Alaska to deserts of New Mexico. With budgets ranging from $30,000 to over half a million dollars, here is where my my skills were truly honed. I evolved, negotiating with Fortune 500 companies and executives located all around the United States. From TV commercials, to online social media advertising campaigns, to the occasional grand opening with Miss New Mexico, I can easily say this was one of my favorite times in my professional career. After years of starting new businesses and refining existing ones, we now find ourselves in the heart of Texas. I have lived in Austin for a few years and it is no wonder it is called the creative capital of Texas. Now, I wake up each day in the most beautiful city in the lower 48, and thank the universe for blessing me with the skills and world wide experiences I possess today.
